High school golfers shine in Women`s City qualifier

The Tall City’s high school standouts stole the show during the qualifying round of the Midland Women’s City Golf Tournament on Monday. Leading the way was Trinity junior Ali Escamilla, who fired a 68 to capture medalist honors at the par-72 Midland Country Club. Midland High senior Anaya Perales joined her in under-par territory by shooting a 69 to finish in second. Escamilla and Perales claimed the top two seeds in the eight-player championship flight, which switches to a match play format when the four-day tournament resumes at 9:04 a.m. today at Green Tree Country Club.
